Spray Foam

Process & Applications

Foam Insulation Application

When choosing a foam insulation contractor, it is important to understand the application process and how the contractor will handle it. At Spray Right Foam we strive for excellence not only in customer services but throughout the entire process of completing your project. To help you understand the process before your installation we have outlined some highlights below.

No Entry

When foam insulation is installed it is important to understand OSHA regulations. Because foam insulation is a combination of chemicals that are manufactured on site, it is recommended that there be no one on site as the foam is being installed, unless they are wearing a proper respirator and eye protection. Along with proper protection it is always recommended to use an air ex-changer during the process to eliminate the amount of particulate in the air. At Spray Right Foam all of our installers are properly outfitted with personal protective equipment and always go the extra mile and exchange the air during the process. Safety is our goal, not only for our employees but for everyone we interact with.

Proper Protection

When foam insulation is being installed it's not only important to have proper personal protection but it is extremely important to protect anything from over spray. At Spray Right Foam we strive to leave a job just how it was before we installed the foam. We go the extra mile to make sure that all windows, doors, tubs and any finished products are 100% covered from any chance of foam getting on them. It isn't only important to cover these objects from the spraying side but it is important to pay close attention to any penetrations where the foam may expand through the wall and to the outside. You can trust that Spray Right Foam will never damage anything with our products as we have strict protection guidelines.

Other Applications

In new buildings, insulation is often installed from the interior. Yet the foundation can easily be accessed from the exterior and insulated on its cold side, below grade, before backfilling, which is the preferred method of insulating a below grade foundation. Existing homes often have to be excavated to waterproof the foundation as a result of water infiltration. Heatlok can be sprayed on the entire surface of the foundation and even cover the footing to create a slope towards the drain. Applying Heatlok directly to the concrete, blocks, or stone is recommended, depending on the type of foundation. At Spray Right Foam we strive to innovate hand in hand with building science and are open to all potential uses for spray foam insulation.
